Do I need a Wedding Videographer?

So you've booked a wedding photographer (hopefully you've booked us!). The next question asked by most couples is do i need a videographer? They often ask us. Our answer is more often than not, a resounding yes. Wedding videography is so different to photography - its a completely different vibe. So why do we recommend it?

Capture precious moments on film

Theres nothing quite like actually reliving that moment on film.A photo can capture the emotion, the setting, but seeing it in action is just something else. When we do wedding films for couples, we always shoot on handheld cameras, not huge cranes or gimbals (those sticks which stabilise cameras!). By being completely handheld you get the rawness of the moment. Life is not super smooth and cinematic. Its not slow-motion. Its shaky, and sometimes messy. The way we edit your wedding film is different from other videographers. Its raw, its intimate, sometimes in your face but it gives you a front row seat at your own wedding. From the viewpoint of a guest. Add in the actual audio from the day, some cherry picked songs (not your usual Bollywood classics don't worry!), and the films will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between.

Arent Photos Enough?

Sometimes photos are all you need. Sometimes budgets dont stretch to video as well and thats ok. But even if its short highlights film of the day, its well worth having. How much are wedding videographers?

Good question! Wedding videography varies so much in price. Similar to photography, experience, style and reputation all play a role in pricing. As a rough guide, expect to pay upwards of £1500 for wedding videography, with higher end packages topping £6000+. It all depends what you are looking for. How do I decide if i want wedding videography?

Ask yourself 2 questions:

1. Is it within budget?

2. Have i seen example videos and decided its not for me?

Budgets will always play a part. Assuming your budget can cover video as well, ask yourself question 2. Sometimes couples see example films and think its not for them. They are more than happy with photos only. Others will be pleasantly surprised by what they see. Its probably not what they thought - its not the 2 hour feature film length video capturing every minute of your day. Its clevely edited to be fun and easy to watch. Its shareable with friends and family.
